Opening
Let my prayer be counted as incense before you, and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice. — Psalm 141:2
Psalm IV

Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness! You have given me relief when I was in distress.

Be gracious to me and hear my prayer!

Know that the Lord has set apart the godly for himself; the Lord hears when I call to him.

In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.

Silent Meditation
3:00
What moment today brought you closest to God? What moment felt furthest?
Commendation
Into Your hands, O Lord, I commend my spirit. You have redeemed me, O Lord, faithful God. Grant me restful sleep and peaceful dreams, that I may rise renewed to serve You. Amen.
Epistle
Romans I
Historical Context
Written by Paul ~57 AD from Corinth. Key Theme: The universal need for righteousness. Look for: The 'righteousness of God' revealed.
CHAPTER I
1 Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God,
2 which he promised beforehand through his prophets in the holy Scriptures,
3 concerning his Son, who was descended from David according to the flesh
4 and was declared to be the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord,
5 through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith for the sake of his name among all the nations,
6 including you who are called to belong to Jesus Christ,
7 To all those in Rome who are loved by God and called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
